Some of my work is available in hard-back book form. I have published three projects over the years as 'coffee table' editions, and also as e-books.

Street photography is a type of documentary photography that features subjects in candid situations within public places such as streets, parks, beaches, malls, public events and other settings.

Street photography uses the techniques of straight photography in that it shows a pure vision of something, like holding up a mirror to society. Street photography often tends to be ironic and can be distanced from its subject matter, and often concentrates on a single human moment, caught at a decisive or poignant moment.

The beach huts documented in this book are all at Southend-on-Sea, Essex, UK. All the images were made as part of a personal project between 2007 and 2011 and portray life and events in and around the beach huts at various times throughout the year.

The book is not just a collection of photos of beach huts. It is more about the people who use the beach huts. The photogaphs portray the families and individuals of all ages who share their love of these mini homes from home. Each has stamped their personal taste on these tiny spaces.

Like all the major cities of the world Bangkok is a city of contrasts. What I hope for within the pages of this book is to attempt to give a flavour of the real Bangkok. I have ventured off the well beaten tourist trail to a large extent, but sometimes paths have crossed and I have included pictures that best illustrate the contrast. Sometimes it was only a matter of wandering a few hundred metres from the main streets and at other times using local transport to travel further afield. Although the title of this book is ‘Bangkok Street Views’ you will see that some pictures are of waterways and canals. I think that they are as valid as streets of concrete and tar, as they are so very much part of everyday life and local commerce within the city.

The people of Bangkok are of course, its life blood, and make the city what it is. Without exception I found the people to be very friendly and helpful. There were occasions when I really didn’t need help but still got it!
